Legend has it that the Kornati Island Chain was created from the many rocks God had left over once he had finished creating the world. He tossed the rocks into the sea, examined his work, and determined no other changes were necessary! Many years later, we visit the Adriatic Islands to relish these fabulously fortuitous rock assemblages and to enjoy the sumptuous relaxation experience each one affords.

Never-ending beaches, rocky cliffs that grace the sea and a truly exotic blend of various flora and fauna lend the Adriatic Islands their unique, ideal-destination, quality. Visit the island of Hvar, the longest of the islands and the sunniest as well. Olive groves, vineyards and lavender have found a home on this island and thrive happily in the truly Mediterranean climate, benefiting all who set foot on the island.

Locals of the Adriatic's islands have a beautiful understanding of the islands' climate and the best of each's bountful offerings. Fishing, sailing, and farming are three ideal professions for this island region. Island Dugi Otok, especially, finds itself to be an ideal setting for fishing, as it offers the biggest natural harbor and wide caves. Be sure to enjoy the white fish and crab, which have been declared the best in the world. The Island of Cres offers a roast lamb, owing its unique flavor to the salty island grass. Cheese from Pag is considered of the highest quality. Lemons grow heartily, as do olives, tangerines, and for the sommelier in all of us, wine grapes flourish here as well. Red wines such as Teran, Merlot and Cabernet hail from Istria, while indigenous white wines include Malvazija, Zlahtina, Posip, Grk, and Kujundzusa.
