As a member of the Balearic Islands, located to the east of Spain, the island of Formentera could not be more opposite of its Mediterranean siblings. Above all, this island is known for what it does not offer. That includes, nightlife, loud blaring techno music at all hours of the day, and a squalor of crowds.

Platja Illetes is another gorgeous beach, a corridor of white sand that stretches out towards the turquoise waters. Nearly the entire southern coast of the island is covered in soft sand.
